    Tips For Health

    Tip 1: DRINK WATER

Yes I know we know this but really 2-3 litres of clean water each day.

The reason; well, our beautiful cells from which we are made are filled with water and form their own mini environment each one replicating the bigger us, if we think of each of our 50 trillion cells as a mini fish bowl and imagine the effect of not topping up or changing the water, the environment is going to get very horrid pretty quickly.

Our 2 litres per day is necessary to constantly top up and purify our internal environment.

We lose a lot of water each 24 hours through perspiration (yes even you) as well as other bodily functions especially breathing, ever spent the night in a closed tent and found the roof dripping in the morning, that’s your hydration profile descending.

Now I drink a lot of water, herbal tea, linseed tea, smoothies, etc and my urine only counts for 2/3 of my water intake (really I have tested this!!!) So I know my body uses a substantial amount of water for its functions each day.

Because water is so basic to life in an effort to protect us our bodymind system will switch off the thirst response if it thinks that water is scarce, and will go into a craving mode for, tea, coffee, alcohol, fatty foods and even salty foods. Giving your body enough water will often switch off these cravings.

Dehydration, stagnation, constriction, loss of flexibility, poor signalling within the body all comes with a poor hydration profile, so drink, drink and drink some more water.

Tip 2: TAKE ESSENTIAL FATTY ACIDS

You know the ones, the omega 3,6 and 9: fish oil; flax seed oil; extra virgin olive oil, nuts and seeds; avocados; oily fish and etc.

Our body cannot make oil itself so we have to provide it in our diet.

Each of our 50 trillion beautiful cells has a lipid (fat) membrane. This membrane keeps the water inside the cell inside and the water outside the cell outside.

When the cell membrane is formed from EFA’s it is clear and flexible, it allows light and movement into the cell giving us energy, joy and flexibility of body and mind.

If EFA’s are not available our beautiful cells will make the best of what we give them, in panic they hold on to all of the fat that comes in, store a lot of it and create the cell membranes from the much denser often damaged fats. This creates a membrane that is dense and inflexible, shutting out the light and movement.

The consistent intake of EFA’s nourishes our bodies and when our system knows that it will be getting the fat it needs for healthy cell regeneration it begins to let go of the stored fats that it no longer needs. Thus EFA’s effectively aid weight loss.

    Tip 3: LINSEED TEA

This is great for re-educating your body to use water correctly and to aid in proper hydration also great for aiding your routes of elimination.

In a clean coffee grinder, grind 1 tablespoon of linseed (golden or brown is good).

Place in a measuring jug and pour on 1/2 pint of just off the boil water, stir well.

    **

Allow to stand for 10 minutes to become gloopy.

Add 1/4 pint of juice (freshly squeezed or Innocent Smoothy is great for this) and 1/4 pint cold water and stir well.

Great drunk through a straw……Yum Yum!

This is great twice a day I have one in the morning and one at about 5pm as a pick me up.

    ** things to add to your linseed tea at this point are;

Bee pollen: Great source of available protein and generally fabulous for all sorts of reasons. To be avoided if you have allergies to anything Bee like

Cinnamon: Great for controlling those sugar cravings and stabilizing blood sugar.

    Tip 4: GREEN SMOOTHY

This is a great way to get your greens for the day full of chlorophyll, vitamins, minerals and fibre. All ingredients are used raw. Despite the fact that it is green it is totally delicious ......... Yes Really J

There are several ways to go about this so I am going to give my basic recipe and then give some alternative suggestions and possible add-ons.

Into a blender put the juice of ½ a lime, add, a small mango (peeled and stoned), 8” of cucumber, 1 avocado (peeled and stoned), 1to 2 good hand full’s of curly kale and a small bunch of Basil, add enough water to blend and whisk it into a delicious nutritious smoothie.

    Add-ons are:

1 desert spoon of mixed seeds (ground in a clean coffee grinder), 1 stick of celery (complete with leaves if it has them), coconut milk........well anything you fancy really J

    Alternatives are:

Curly kale = Spinach (delicious but can bind with magnesium and take it out of the body so do not use all of the time), Lettuce or spring greens.

Mango = strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, (any berries), kiwi fruit, etc

Basil = Mint or any herb that you are partial to, (rosemary might be a bit woody)

If you have a sweet tooth you could add a splash of Agave syrup but try it first you may be pleasantly surprised J

One of these a day or even every other day will give your system a real boost.
